What do you think of the Pantone color of the year, Ultra Violet? I took over the Tombow account and shared 2 crystal inspired art journal pages using Ultra Violet as my main color!  This color reminds me of crystals and galaxies, so on these pages I used a crystal theme.

In the video below you can see how I use Ultra Violet to create crystals! The Dual Brush Pen equivalent to Ultra Violet is 606-violet which I used in combination with a couple of other colors. I started by sketching out diamonds onto the mage with a MONO J pencil, and then outlined them with the Dual Brush Pens, brushing them with water to achieve a watercolor effect.

Okay, in my 2nd art journal page, I used the Blending Palette with Dual Brush Pens to create a splash effect background.
Watch the video to see the art journal page come together! The Tombow  Irojiten Colored Pencil equivalent to Ultra Violet is  V-9 and I’m using it with the Dual Brush Pens here!
.
To create this page, start by sketching out some crystals using the irojiten pencil. Next, Scribble some Dual Brush Pen ink onto a blending palette, mist it with water and smear it over top of the page. The colored pencil shows through the ink for a cool effect! Finish off the page with a quote and some doodles using a Fudenosuke brush pen!
That’s it!

So, my challenge to you: use Ultra Violet in your projects! Purple isn’t a color I would normally go for, but I do love how these pages turned out.
