It’s Thursday, which means it is not only time for a peek into my art journal, but it is also the start of a new season on Get Messy!
Get Messy Art Journal is an art journaling program that is a school, art playground and family. We are a group of like minded art journalers who have come together under this art form to learn, share, practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. Our community values consistent creating, encouragement and suppport and trying new things. We would love to have you join us as a member of Get Messy Art Journal.
You can read more about why I love the Get Messy community here.
I decided that with the start of a new season I also wanted a new art journal, so I put together this one with a bit of mixed media paper and some quilted vinyl.
I lined the inside with some fabric I ice dyed last year. It seemed to fit well with the artsyness (that’s totally a word) of the journal.
Now for my pages this week:
I participated in an art journal swap and received a package of papers and embellishments from the wonderful Tanyalee, some of which I used on the page below. I just love that balloon image!
I also cut out a star stencil on my Brother ScanNCut, and added a few stars on top with black modeling paste.
This next page I don’t love as much. The background was fun to do with watercolors, but I feel like the girl is a bit out of proportion. She hes super longs arms, right?
I made a little flap on this next page. Part of the challenge was to do a single line drawing, so I did that with my hammock drawing and then colored it with watercolors.
The photos I ripped out of a Colorado travel guide I got on our trip last year.
What’s you favorite medium? Right now I am LOVING watercolors. 🙂
