Copic Colored Birds

Today is the start of the December challenge over on the Paper Wings Productions blog! This months challenge is a pretty simple one- HOLIDAY! All you have to do is create a project with a holiday theme and link it up to the linky tool on the PWP blog.
Here’s my card inspired by the challenge. I just love that adorable little bird stamp from the Holiday Tags stamp set. I think he’s just the tweetest little bird! I stamped him a bunch onto some paper and then colored the little birdies in with my copic and prismacolor markers!

It was a lot of coloring, but I happen to love coloring!

Stamping and Coloring with Copic Markers

This month’s challenge at Paper Wings Productions is “Anything Goes”. So, I grabbed my favorite Paper Wings stamps and my Copic Markers! Have I mentioned that I l-o-v-e Copic markers? I think I might have. 😉
I started just by stamped the cups onto white cardstock using Momento ink. That’s the best ink to use with copic markers, I colored in my teacups using these copic colors:
E15,E18 BG10, BG13,BG72, BG78 B24, B28 G40, G94, G99, RV63, RV66, RV69, V25
That’s pretty much my entire collection of copics, haha! I need more colors. Okay, I want ALL the colors.

Do you use Copics? You can enter the PWP Anything Goes Challenge here.

Copic Tips and Resources

I’ve been getting more and more into using Copics. I’ve always thought they would be really neat to use, but at $7 a marker I was a bit hesitant to actually buy any and use them. I’m sure you can understand.

I bought a couple on clearance or with a 40% off coupon to play with and try out and I was not at all disappointed. I was hooked! So while my collection still isn’t huge, I was lucky enough to receive some as a birthday present (YAY!) so it’s slowly growing!

I’m still extremely new to coloring with alcohol ink markers, so I’ve done a lot of googling and pinteresting tutorials and tips. I figured I go ahead and share those with you here in case you to are looking for some tips!

First- what are Copics? They’re high quality alcohol ink markers. The alcohol ink allows you to blend the colors together unlike water based ink markers. They also have replaceable nibs and can be refilled.
