SFTIO- Quote Mini Book

For my fourth and last project using the Scrapbook from the Inside Out Wisdom kit I decided instead of making another layout, I would make a mini book. I love quotes and they usually contain “wisdom” so I decided a mini book would be perfect for holding a few of my favorites.
As I mentioned in my previous posts, I just love the colors in this kit. They’re so warm and inspiring. I also really love the Basic Grey paper feathers that were in the wisdom kit. I placed on on the cover (along with the AWESOME resin owl.) and also attached a few on the inside of my mini book.

SFTIO- Be Happy

My third layout using the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out Wisdom Kit is a fun one. I used a light colored cardstock as the background, so the photos and embellishments really stand out. I l-o-v-e the colors of the Wisdom kit.
I cut the owl out on my diecut machine and used the same patterned paper to mat my picture with. For my title, I used the quote “Be Happy, It is one way of being wise.” I saw it on pinterest, I’m not sure who it’s by but I loved it. For my journaling, I used the quote as a prompt and wrote out what makes me happy.

SFTIO November Guest Designer

I’ve already posted one of my layouts using the SFTIO Wisdom Kit, and today I’m up on the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out blog sharing a little bit about this layout:

I hope you hop over to the SFTIO blog to read my post and see how I made this layout. SFTIO also has a message board full of inspiration and challenges, here, and if you like monthly scrapbooking kits, stop by their website, here.

{LEARN} A SFTIO Wisdom Kit Layout

As part of the Scrapbooking from the Inside Out (SFTIO) Teen Collective, I received Novembers Wisdom Kit to design with. I must say, I love the colors in this kit! They’re so warm and fall like. The embellishments are fun to play with and went really well with the “Wisdom” theme of the kit.
I’ll be highlighting the 4 projects I created with the kit throughout the month. Today I’m sharing my layout, Learn.

When I saw the light bulb diecuts in the kit, I wanted to scrapbook about learning new things and skills. It’s wise to learn new things, right?
I used a picture of me wearing a crocheted fox hat I made for my sister and then my journaling is about learning to crochet and learning in general.

For my background I cut some of the patterned paper up into strips and staggered them diagonally across my cardstock. Since the papers are double-sided I didn’t actually have to cut up that many papers…

SFTIO Blog Hop

Welcome to the Scrapbook from the Inside Out (SFTIO) Design Team Blog Hop! We are showcasing layouts by
the current design team using the June kit TRANSFORMATION. If you are just
arriving at my blog, make sure you go to the beginning at Melissa’s blog as you won’t want to miss out on
all the gorgeous inspiration. During this hop we are saying goodbye to some of the ladies that have been part of the SFTIO family for over a year. We are also saying HELLO to our new TEEN
COLLECTIVE. What is a “Teen Collective”?
We are combining the Teen Designers from CreateU with our Design Team at
SFTIO. This is a wonderful opportunity to have each of these girls give their
perspective of the monthly emotion. Each Teen Designer will be joining us for
one month as a Guest Designer but, will be a constant and active “voice” on our
website and forum.

Or, if you’re geeky like me, the Teen Collective is like the Borg Collective. You will be assimilated.
Ready to begin?

Today I’m sharing one of my favorite layouts I made using the CreateU Friendship kit. I really loved the colors, especially of the background paper I used. To continue with the swirls, I used white paint and added a few of my own and then once they were dry I added my journaling on top of the swirls.
My journaling is about the friendship of my Mom and I. She’s more than just my Mom, she has been and always shall be my friend. (more Star Trek quotes, haha.)

Here’s a little peek at my journaling. I love this layout, I can always look back at it and see how my Mom and I have changed but still friends. 🙂 She rocks.

GIVEAWAY! We also have a fabulous prize! Leave a comment below letting me know your name, email address and if you like to scrapbook about meaningful things by
Saturday, 9 p.m. pacific time.
The winner will be announced by Monday on the SFTIO Facebook and the SFTIO blog.

Also, if you comment on each blog participating in the hop, you have more chances of winning!

A CreateU Layout: Fly Away

I used the Courage Kit from CreateU Visual Journaling for this layout, I love the chipboard embellishments that came in this kit, and those yellow thickers!

Be sure to stop by the CreateU blog and facebook page to learn more about them or grab one of the 7 kits.

CreateU Layout: Weird

I used the Originality kit from CreateU Visual Journaling for this layout.
This layout has a bit more of an art journal feel to it than the other layouts I’ve created for CreateU. I only used a few embellishments, so it is mostly just doodles. my favorite. 🙂
For the journaling I wrote a list of a few weird facts about me, and I used a gorgeous (nerd!) picture of myself, don’t you think? 😉
Be sure to stop by the CreateU blog and facebook page to learn more about them or grab one of the 7 kits.

A CreateU Layout: Undecided

I used the Confidence kit from CreateU Visual Journaling for this layout.
I loved all of the letter stickers included in this kit, and those gorgeous yellow flowers.
Be sure to check out the other design team members blogs for peeks at their CreateU layouts!

A CreateU Kit Layout: So Crafty

I used the Originality Kit from CreateU Visual Journaling for this layout. This is a very bohemian kit full of bright colors. I like it.

I loved the journaling cards included in this kit, (there are 5 different cards.) but for my design I wanted 2 small journaling spots so I cut 1 of the cards in half, and put the 2 pieces on either side of my photo.
You can find all 7 of their kits on their blog or stop by their facebook page.

A CreateU Layout: Brave

I used the Courage kit from CreateU Visual Journaling for this layout. My favorite things about it are probably that golden yellow felt star die cut and the corrugated cardboard arrow. So much lovely texture!
Also, in case you’re wondering about the photograph. I got the chance to hold a baby alligator while in the Everglades. Isn’t he so cute? 😉
Look how gorgeous this kit is! I will be sharing another layout I made using it soon. I just love the all of the colors, and I get over how cute those yellow thickers are.
I love being on the CreateU Visual Journaling design team! You can find all 7 of their kits on their blog or stop by their facebook page.
