My December Daily/30 Lists Album Part 2

Apparently I am a very bad blogger because I totally forgot to share the second half of my December Daily album, and it’s almost February. Oops.

You can find part 1 of my album here.

This is the journal/mini album I made to use partially as a December Daily album, partially #30Lists and also a little bit of a Christmas art journal, all rolled up into one.

I am using a recycled book for my album base. I used an old Readers Digest book,  because I think the patterns on these old hardback books are just so lovely!
I didn’t have a set theme or color scheme for my album- besides just using up my paper stash and digging into my Christmas supplies! I went with whichever colors I liked best for the day.

Overall, I love this years December Daily album. Working in the altered book was really fun.

My December Album Part 3

Today I wanted to share with you guys the last of the pages from my December Daily album. I used this album to document my December, adding in photos, journaling, lists, art and anything else I felt like documenting!
I’ve shared a little bit about my December album here on the blog already. If you want to, read more about it here:
  • Putting together/Decorating my December album
  • My December album days 1-7
  • My December album days 8-23
Here are days 24-31. Near the end of my book I also added in some of the Christmas cards I received. I love getting cards in the mail and hate throwing them away, so I’m glad I could add them in here. 🙂
Day 24- I’d been petsitting Taylor’s cat, so we (the Cat and I) took a Christmas selfie which I had to add in here.
Day 25- Christmas! We didn’t do much on Christmas day, so I carved a new repeating stamp and used the paper I stamped on the left page here. Today’s 30 Lists prompt was “Things I want to remember” so I added that list on top.

Days 26-29- We went camping this weekend so I played “Catch up” on my 30 lists prompts when we got home and just put them all on one page.

We had a fantastic camping trip (I’ll share photos soon!) and I decided to add a few of the pictures in here although I will be adding them into my scrapbook as well.

While on our trip, I took some photos of the stars and wanted to add in one of my favorite photos. I stamped the constellation paper.

Dec 30- I cut the Christmas village from a Christmas card and the heart from a piece of paper I stamped. Added today’s 30 List into the paper bag.

Day 31- The last day of December! I added another Christmas card and created my own list prompt for today (30 lists only included the first 30 days of December).

I love that I now have this album to remember what I did in December, the most magical month of the year. I think this is a great way to document the Christmas season.

My December Album Days 8-23

Hey everyone, Merry Christmas Eve! Are you ready for the Holiday? 🙂 Just fair warning, This is a long post.
When I get up in the mornings (after playing on facebook and drinking tea) I’ve been spending time doing the days 30 Days of lists prompt and working in my December album, adding in photos and memories from the day before.
I’ve shared a little bit about my December album here on the blog already. If you want to, read more about it here:
  • Putting together/Decorating my December album
  • My December album days 1-7

Here are days 8-23. We celebrated Christmas early while family was in town so I had to play catch up a little bit once they left.
Dec 8th. I used a gelli print for the background on the left. The colors of the print reminded me a bit of cacti so I thought it was perfect to go with the photo of my cactus Christmas sweater!

I didn’t really do much on the 9th, so I kept it simple and just added in a list.

Dec 10th and 11th. I stamped (the wings) and drew the angel on the left and colored her with gelato pigment sticks and decided she needed to be added to my December album.
The list prompt for the 11th was “Things I wish I could outsource” so I drew a minion. 🙂

Dec 12th and 13th. The 13th was a busy day for me, I went out on my scooter twice because I needed things (from Hobby Lobby! my fave.) and my Mom and I were making Christmas presents.

Dec 14th. Today I picked my first snow pea from my garden of the winter season. We also went to get some things we needed from the bicycle shop and while there, I tried out their “fat wheel” unicycle. It was a bit different than my skinny wheel unicycle.

Dec 15th. I’ve been illustrating some of my Aunts poems (will be blogging about them after the holidays!) and I decided the ice princess worked well for my December album, so I made a copy of her and added her in.

Dec 16th. My amazing friend Heather sent me a “12 days of Christmas” package, where I open a present a day until Christmas so I had to journal about that. She’s the sweetest!

Dec 17th and 18th. I didn’t do much on the 17th, Taylor got here on the 18th and we celebrated out Christmas early! I got so many fantastic gifts, everyone loved the handmade gifts I gave them (YAY!) and we just had a great time.

We have our spray painted tree set up on our porch, so we light it up at night.

Dec 19th. We went ice skating at our local rink and had a blast! There were only a dozen people there so the fact that it wasn’t crowded made it even better!

That evening we went and drove through the Christmas lights! The next morning we got up and made gluten free sugar cookies.

Dec 22nd. We’re pet sitting Taylor’s cat for the week while she’s traveling, so I had to include a snapshot of Teddy.

Dec 23rd. This is possibly my favorite page yet. The 30 lists prompt of the day was “I find magic in”, and that really inspired me.

Both backgrounds are gelli prints- the print on the left was just on regular paper but the print on the left was done onto contact paper, so it’s a transparency.

I stapled the gelli print transparency to the top of the left page, so that if flips up to show what’s underneath- Like magic!

So there you have it, a little peek into my life this month! Thanks for reading, Merry Christmas!

My December Album Part 1

I already shared a few pages of this album when I was first decorating it. You can see those here.
I made this album to use it to document my December and the Christmas season! Sort of like December Daily.
I am adding journaling, photos, embellishments and I am also adding in lists from 30 Days of Lists. Some are Christmasy, some aren’t.
I have so many pages in this album I’m sharing them in multiple posts. This is part 1 (the first 7 days) I’ll be posting more of my pages later in the month.
Like I said, this album doesn’t have one specific style or theme to it. I’m doing so many different things (scrapbooking, art journaling, etc) in it that some pages are pretty much just paper and embellishments while some are very mixed media.

Hazel and Ruby/Fancy Pants Blog Hop

Hey guys, I hope you’re ready for some Christmas inspiration today! This week is the blog swap between Hazel and Ruby and Fancy Pants! I have been having fun combining products from the 2 companies into this cute album.
My plan for this album is to use it to document my December and the Christmas season! Sort of like December Daily, I plan to add whatever I want into this album- photos, journaling, doodles, art journal pages, etc.

Below you can see some of my pages. Since it’s not December, I obviously haven’t started adding photos or journaling yet but I did have fun pre-embellishing them.

While I had all of my supplies out I also made a couple of Christmas cards to send out! I love all of the cute Fancy Pants die cuts!

To read more about how I put this album together head on over to the Hazel and Ruby blog. The blog hop between Hazel and Ruby and Fancy Pants runs all week so there is plenty of Christmas inspiration to be had! You’ll find projects from the other design team members on the HR blog.

My December Album

This year I’m doing my first “December Daily” type album. I’m combining 30 Lists with December Daily and also throwing in a few prompts from Daily Doc: Holiday Edition.
I wanted a pocket style album but I didn’t have one so I restyled a post bound 6″x6″ photo album I got a few years ago but never used. I took it apart and stitched pockets into the page protectors so that it’s more project life style. I used gelli printed papers in Christmas colors to cover up the outside of the album.

Here’s my first 10 or so pages, for my first page I did some journaling and filled the top pocket full of glitter.

One of the prompts in Daily Doc: Holiday Edition was to journal about Holiday Cookies. December 4th was national cookie day, so I made cookies and then added a bit of journaling about that in my album.

Are you doing a December album? I’m enjoying mine. 🙂
