I’m still catching up on sharing some of my photos from our epic road trip last Summer. We left Texas in May and then took a meandering trip across the western half of the USA before ending up in Seattle. You can see more photos here.
Today I wanted to share a few of my photos from our stay in Olympic National Park, which is in the Olympic Peninsula of Washington.
We camped here for a little while, seeing the sights like the Hoh Rainforest and then we stumbled into Twilight town (Forks, WA.), I haven’t read the books, but I had heard that they were set here. I wasn’t all that impressed by the “Beware Vampire” signs…
The photos below were taken in the Hoh Rainforest, which is amazing!
So much green and then just a short drive away you have either the mountains or the ocean!

One of my favorite national parks that we visited (Not that I could actually choose a favorite. There were way too many!) was Mount St Helens. Now, I loved Mount Rainier as well, but there was something about seeing the destruction that Helens left that had me in awe.
Have you been? If you get the chance to visit Mount St Helens, take it!

Today I am sharing photos from our day in Glacier National Park in Montana. We only had one day here, but it was AMAZING. Like, This was one of my favorite days from our trip.
We hiked up to Avalanche Lake, which was about a 4 mile round trip hike, not bad but it was all uphill on the way out- very much worth it though. 🙂
I just finished making a mini album using these photos, so I’ll share that within the next week or two.
Have you been the Glacier National Park?
And what is magic without a bit of levitation? I discovered levitation photography back in the Spring and think it’s really fun. It makes people look twice, haha.

One of the super cool places we stopped at along the way was Yellowstone National Park. Let me tell you- if you haven’t been there, you should go! It definitely lives up to it’s reputation of being awesome.
Let’s start this post with Old Faithful: We got up early and watched like the 7am-ish eruption of Old Faithful, so even though it was a Saturday in June, there was hardly a crowd at all! Yay!
I love these pictures. We were driving through the park and saw the most adorable BABY FOXES! Yes – baby foxes. Just stare at these pictures and enjoy.
They were so playful and cute.
There were also a lot of elk, including a baby elk! I love baby animals so much.
The scenery of Yellowstone was just breathtaking, especially considering the rest of Wyoming.
Have you been to Yellowstone National Park, or is it on your bucket list?
Photos, photos, photos. I thought I was just getting ready to move on to another state from our trip to share more photos with you, but then I realized I still have plenty of Colorado photos. Colorado is just way too photogenic.
In my last photo post I shared some astrophotography from Colorado, and today I’m sharing photos from the Rocky Mountains National Park. Which is just gorgeous if you’ve never been there. You need to plan a trip.
I was SO excited to see not only one moose, but a baby moose as well!
That’s an elk stampede, btw. Amazing, right?
Alright, I *think* I am finally, maybe, done with sharing my favorite Colorado pictures! Next stop- Grand Tetons and Yellowstone!
Which one is your favorite picture today?
It’s only slightly scary, being out at 2 am by yourself in the middle of nowhere when you know there are bears out there too. 😉
But seriously, when this is the view from my tent, how am I supposed to NOT get up?
Are you amazed by the stars too? You can see more of my photography here.
We took a trip out to the Great Sand Dunes national park in Alamosa which was really cool. If you’re ever out that way then you must stop for a visit!
My aunt and Uncle have a couple of hives of honeybees. I had to take some photos of them, of course!
There are just so many wonderful opportunities for good photos in Colorado. Beautiful scenery and so much amazing wildlife.
There you have it, part 2 of my favorite photos of the hundreds I took. I guess you know you’re a photographer when….. When it’s so hard to choose one out of a hundred photos to share.
Consider yourself lucky there are only 13 photos in this post.
Next week I plan to share some of my astrophotography attempts!
As you may know, I spent the Summer traveling. For the first month of the Summer I was visiting family in southern Colorado- which is gorgeous!! There are so many wonderful photography opportunities there and so I took advantage of them!
I took a ton of photos, so here are just a few of them, I’ll be doing multiple photo posts in the next month.
(horse selfie!)
As you can see the neighbors horses were extremely friendly (and huge! but beautiful) and so very photogenic.
