Glittered Buttons Using Mod-Podge DIY

If you love buttons, you should join my button swap! Here on punk projects I’m posting fun button ideas this month. Today’s button technique: Glitter covered buttons!
Supplies: Buttons, Mod-Podge, Paint Brush, Glitter
1. Give your button a light coat of mod-podge, but try and keep the mod-podge out of the holes. If you do get some in the button holes by accident just use something small like a sewing pin and poke the mod-podge out.
 2. Cover your button in glitter.
 3. If you want to, you can go over the buttons with a coat of Mod Podge Acrylic Sealer
, which will secure the glitter from flaking off.

Busy with Buttons Book Review

Have you signed up for the Button Swap yet? If you haven’t, find out more info about it here. If you have, You rock!
If you need a little button inspiration, read my review of the book Busy with Buttons by Jill Gorski below.
Busy with Buttons: Save, Stitch, Create and Share by Jill Gorski
This book is full of buttons! The book starts out talking about collecting buttons, then moves onto a reference of buttons talking about all of the different kinds of buttons, which I think is neat. Jill shows you different techniques to attach buttons, from sewing to gluing. The rest of the book is jam-packed with projects using buttons.
You’re bound to find inspiration and things you want to make in this book!
I like that the majority of the projects in this book are new and original (at least to me.)
I love the Flower-Full Yardstick Cover project that is featured on the cover of the book- The button flowers are very bold and beautiful against the black felt. You can find instructions for this project on page 108 of the book.
Another favorite project of mine in this book are the Button Magnets that you can find the tutorial for on page 116.
If you need (or just want!) a new craft book to add to your bookshelf, I recommend checking Jill’s book out! Click here to find this book on Amazon.
