Hey guys, I have a new project up on the Tombow USA blog today that I wanted to share with y’all! Wedding season is coming up, and if you’re headed to any this summer, you might need a gift, and that’s where this project comes in.

I’m sharing how to create a fun wedding couple doodle, that will make a really cute gift for your friends!

In the tutorial I share some tips for sketching out each character to customize them to the wedding couple, as well as how to color them in using Dual Brush Pens and paint the floral backdrop!

Grab the full tutorial over on the Tombow USA blog here.

Wedding Coloring Pages

Hey guys, I have a super fun free download for y’all today! As you know, Taylor’s wedding is only a month away so like the good sister that I am I have been working hard to design lots of projects and decor for her big day.

One of those projects was to design some wedding inspired color pages for the kids at the wedding to color in! That’s what these are! And I’m sharing them with you as well!

Download them here:

  • Cactus Love Coloring Page
  • Wedding Cake Coloring Page
  • Flower Bouquet Coloring Page
Feel free to print them out for your own wedding/kids/occasion. All I ask is that you don’t try to sell them as your own!

Taylor’s wedding is in Arizona, so while I did a couple of easier pages (flowers and cake) for the younger kids, I also just HAD to design a page with saguaro cacti! I think they’re so cool, so why not make bride and groom cactus?
I used my favorite colored pencils (Tombow’s Irojiten Adult Coloring Pencils in Vivid) to color in the cactus, who say’s the pages are just for the kids? 🙂
Know someone with a wedding coming up? Please feel free to share these with them!

FREE Watercolor Floral Printables

Today I have a free printable for you guys! One of my most recent projects was designing and putting together Taylor’s bridal shower invitations!
I painted a bunch of watercolor flowers that I could scan in and use in my invitation design, and I also thought I would share them as a printable for you here as well. Feel free to use them for any personal (please don’t sell them!) projects you like. Such as using them for your own party invitations, in your art journal, or whatever.
Just save the image below-
Here are my finished invitations!
To add a bit of fanciness to them, I printed the wording using a laser printer so that I could run them through the Minc machine and have a hot pink foiled effect.
After foiling all of the words (that was a lot of foiling!!), I created a floral pattern using the watercolor designs above and printed it out.
I used Tombow’s Quick Start Permanent Adhesive Runner to put all of the layers together. It came in pretty handy, as it doesn’t have a lid you have to bother with putting on or off, just grab and roll!
I love it when tools make things easier!

Although making nearly 30 party invitations took a bit of time, these were pretty easy to do! And I am super thrilled with the finished look so that’s even better, right!

If you use these free floral designs in any projects, I would love it if you tagged me. I love to see what you make!

Bride and Groom Felt Dolls

This post is part of our wedding diy series She Said Yes!  This year, Punk Projects will be venturing into the glitzy and flower-filled world of wedding diys and tutorials. Taylor,  Katie’s sister, and occasional contributor to the blog is getting married this year, so we are teaming up to DIY her wedding and bring you amazing tutorials along the way!
Taylor requested that I make some dolls for her flower girl to play with and enjoy, and I loved the idea! So I grabbed my felt stash and a sketchbook to workout what I wanted to do.
This isn’t a full tutorial, as there were a lot of felt pieces involved that I didn’t want to take pictures of (#lazyblogger). But I will explain my process for you in case you want to make your own for your wedding!
I loved the “sleepy eyes” of these Plush Mermaids that Elsie from ABM made, so as I was sketching out my dolls I knew that’s how I wanted to do their faces. I did change them a little, instead of embroidered eyes, I cut out felt eyelashes to stitch on, as well as giving them mouths.
These dolls are pretty good sized. Think teddy bear sized, maybe 2′ tall? So if you’re making these, you’ll need about 1/2 a yard of the skin colored felt.
I cut out 2 little human shapes (for each doll) from the felt, and then stitched on the clothing and features before sewing the 2 pieces together and stuffing it.
For the bride, I also added on a 3d wedding dress. Basically, I stitched her up a skirt and then sewed it around her body, and also added a bit of lace to it for embellishment.
For the hair, I used yarn and made little wigs by stitching the yarn together with my sewing machine and then hand sewing it in place on the dolls heads.
Styling hair is hard work, you guys! I mean, not really, but making sure there aren’t any bald spots is! Ha.
For the bride I also braided sections of her hair.
These were actually really easy overall, just a bit time consuming. I hope the little flower girl likes playing with them!

DIY WoodBurned Wedding Card Box

Hey guys! I am up on the Walnut Hollow blog today sharing a fun project using their Cornice wood box! I used it to make a card box for Taylor’s wedding!
I already shared the wood burned cookie plate I made from a Basswood Country Round, and I wanted this card box to sort of match it, with the wood burned look.
So I grabbed my hot tools and my paints and got to work!
You can find the full tutorial over on the Walnut Hollow blog here.

DIY Ringbearer Pillows 3 ways!

This post is part of our wedding diy series She Said Yes! Here are different ways to whip up a ringbearer’s pillow in 20 minutes or less. If you know how to sew and stuff a pillow, these will be a piece of (wedding) cake!
Any of the designs can be made following the steps I used.
Cut 2 11″ squares (or any size you want for that matter). I used seed pearls for two of the designs, and an antique doily for the other. All of these were stitched on by hand with regular thread.
For the seed pearls, I just marked out a grid pattern and then stitched on each pearl on one of the squares. Then, I took a 24″ ribbon and stitched the halfway point in the center of the pillow.
I was surprised by how quickly these worked up. I actually dread seed beads or pearls…like please give me any other kind of craft (or even tell me to wash the dishes) before I have to work with tiny beads. Maybe it’s the fact that these are tiny, cute little wedding sparkles that made them easier to work with.
Anyway, here are my three designs:
  • a pearl dot pattern
  • a pearl “bouquet” pattern made from one large pearl and several small pearls
  • a vintage doily that I appliqued on.
I really love how each of these could be designed to coordinate with the wedding dress or flower girl dress. One of our future projects is a DIY flower girl dress to coordinate with my wedding dress.

Hey guys, today I am up on the Walnut Hollow blog sharing how I made this wood burned cookie plate!

I used one of their Basswood Rounds, Creative Versa-Tool Wood Burner and a bit of white acrylic paint (by DecoArt) to make this and it was super easy, but a little time consuming. It was totally worth it though!
