Get Messy Friday - art

It’s the season of art over at Get Messy, So for the next few weeks I’ll be working in my art journal.

Get Messy Art Journal is an art journaling program that is a school, art playground and family. We are a group of like minded art journalers who have come together under this art form to learn, share, practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. Our community values consistent creating, encouragement and suppport and trying new things. We would love to have you join us as a member of Get Messy Art Journal.

Hey there, another week in the Season of Art 101 has gone by, so here are my pages!

I doodled some paint brushes (based on ones I own) onto the page, over top of a bit of collage, and because Bob Ross inspires me to paint, I added that little motivational “Be a Bob Ross”.

After painting this girl in my sketchbook I altered her in photoshop to be sepia toned and then printed her out to use in my art journal.

On my next page I did a watercolor background, with some gel pen lines.

I painted the girl on with gouache. I’ve been trying to experiment more with that medium and I’m just not in love with it. Maybe because I have a really cheap set of gouache, I’m not sure.

And my last page in my journal this week. I was playing around, painting a neon background, and I ended up hating it. So I covered up most of it with black gesso and I kind of love it now, with the neon moons.

It’s still a work in progress. I may add some doodles to it.
