Get Messy – The Season of Gifts Week 6

It’s the season of gifts over at Get Messy, So for the past few weeks I’ve be working in my Gifts journal.

Get Messy Art Journal is an art journaling program that is a school, art playground and family. We are a group of like minded art journalers who have come together under this art form to learn, share, practice our skills and push past our creative limits with hopes to inspire. Our community values consistent creating, encouragement and suppport and trying new things. We would love to have you join us as a member of Get Messy Art Journal.

This week on the Get Messy blog we were encouraged to try some blind portrait drawing, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it, I need control of my drawings, haha. So I just settled for loosely sketch the girl below with a watercolor pencil.

I did another watercolor pencil sketch on the page below as well, this time with blue. I almost always sketch with a pencil and micron pen, so this was a bit different for me.

I foiled the floral patterns on the right side of the page using my Heidi Swapp Minc, they’re so shiny!

Okay these last ones aren’t in my gifts journal, they’re actually in my Minimalist journal, but they have to do with giving as well.

I did a bit of lettering practice on the left with my Tombow Dual Brush Pens.

So that was the last week of the Season of Gifts, however there are still a couple of pages left in my gifts journal so I will probably finish it out.
